History
Almada (also known as General Almada) is a town in the Pehuajó Norte district of the Gualeguaychú department, in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. It is named after the railway station, which in turn was named in homage to General Apolinario Almada, around which the town was formed. Almada is home to the San José Catholic Church and the San Pablo Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Documents show that Volga Germans have lived in the area since 1916. They were primarily tenants and a few who were able to buy their own land.
