Christoph Uhrich was born 15 Apr 1735 in Hofheim, Lampertheim, Worms, Germany. He is the grandson of Ludwig Urich and Anna Maria Bruch, also of Hofheim, Lampertheim, Worms, Germany. The name appears to have been originally spelled Urig.
Christoph, his wife Anna Barbara, and son Johann immigrated to Russia.
Johann was the only member of the family to survive the trip, and initially settled in Dietel. Johannes Urich is recorded on the 1767 census of Dietel as an orphan in Household #3. There he is recorded as the son of the deceased Friedrich Urhich and living in the household of widower Philipp Spreuer. He later moved to Frank.
