Christoph Trin was born on 6 July 1739 in the village of Herbstein, between Giessen and Fulda. He married there on 29 October 1761 to Maria Elisabetha Fleischer. She had been born there on 7 June 1740. They have one daughter born before they left Germany: Anna Maria Fridericka (born 21 August 1763 in Herbstein).
The family immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the hooker Die Jungfer Dietrika under the command of skipper Christian Korsholm. Daughter Anna Maria Fridericka died on the transport between Oranienbaum and the Germany colonies along the Volga. The parents arrived in Köhler on 10 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 3.
On the 1798 Census, they are recorded in Köhler in Household No. Kl20.
