Description

Ernst August Traut was confirmed in Altenhaßlau in 1754. Both his confirmation record and his marriage record state that he was from Büdingen. According to the parish records of Gründau, Ernst August Draut (son of Valentin Draut) and Catharina Kropp (daughter of Heinrich Kropp) were married in Rothenbergen on 26 Aug 1762. Their son Johann Wilhelm was born on 7 May 1763, and baptized on 12 May 1763, and their daughter Anna Elisabeth was born 22 Nov and baptized on 24 Nov 1765, both born in Rothenbergen.

Anna Elisabeth must have died prior to the family's arrival in Russia.  Ernst, Catharina, son Wilhelm, and newborn son Conrad settled in Norka and are reported there on the First Settler's List in Family #66.

Rothenbergen is today part of Gründau, which is now a municipality of several smaller villages.
