Johann Heinrich Strott from Schwarzenfels and Catharina Elisabetha Wentzel married in Niedermittlau on 25 July 1762. Johann Heinrich (son of Johann Heinrich Strott) was born in Schwarzenfells and baptized on 22 January 1743. Catharina Elisabeth Wentzel (daughter of Johann Conrad Wentzel and Catharina Philippina Rösch) was born 23 March and baptized 25 March 1734 in Niedermittlau. Johann Heinrich and Catharina Elisabeth had three children, all born in Niedermittlau: Susanna Maria, born 29 September and baptized 3 October 1762; Johann Heinrich Philipp born 2 February and baptized 9 February 1766; and Maria Elisabetha born 18 September, baptized 23 September 1770.
In 1772 Johann Heinrich Strott and his family, Johann Peter Wentzel and his family, and Conrad Wentzel emigrated to Russia. They settled in Pobochnaya in 1773. (The Strott surname is spelled "Straub" on the published translation of the Pobochnaya settlement list.) Widow Catharina Elisabetha Strott and her daughter Susanna Maria are still living in Pobochnaya in 1798, residing in the household of Susanna Maria's husband Johann Peter Herdt (1798 Household #6).
It is not clear from the available records exactly how Peter Wentzel and Catharina Elisabeth Wentzel are related.
