Jakob Staab, son of Conrad Staab & Anna Maria Noll, was born 29 May 1740 in Orb, Mainz (now Bad-Orb) in Hessen. He married Magdalena Seipel. Jakob, Magdalena, their infant son Johannes, and Magdalena's mother arrived in Katharinenstadt on 3 August 1767 where they are recorded in Household No. 134.
Johannes Staab, son of Johannes & Magdalena Staab, was born 1 October 1731 in Orb, Mainz. He married Magdalena Wildeish. They and their 9-year-old son Johannes arrived in Katharinenstadt on 3 August 1767 where they are recorded in Household No. 132.
Jakob and Johannes were first cousins, their fathers being brothers.
