Johann Andreas Schreiber, son of Georg Caspar Schreiber & Agnes Glösser, was born on 2 November 1725 and baptized on 4 November 1725 in the Evangelical Church of Nieder-Florstadt, about 26 kilometers northeast of Frankfurt. He married Anna Maria Schreitz, daughter of Conrad Schreitz, on 8 January 1752 in the same church.
They had four known children, each baptized in Nieder-Florstadt: (1) Johann Heinrich, on 31 May 1753; (2) Maria Margaretha, on 14 November 1755; (3) Andreas, on 29 July 1758; and (4) Johann Conrad, on 18 December 1764.
Johann Andreas Schreiber and his family emigrated to Russia, departing from Lübeck aboard the English frigate Love and Unity with skipper Thomas Fairfax at the helm. They arrived at the Russian port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766.
The Schreiber's settled in the Volga German colony of Schilling where they are recorded on the 1798 Census in Households No. Sg68, Sg32, and Sg89.
