Johann Jakob Schimpf, son of Johann Conrad Schimpf & Anna Schaurer, was born 6 June 1721 in Reichelsheim. He married Anna Catharina Deichert several children including Johann Georg (born 20 October 1747 in Reichelsheim).
The family immigrated to Russia, arriving at the port in Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766. They settled in Dobrinka on 20 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 69. By the time of the 1798 Census, two younger sons of Johann Jakob & Anna Catharina had moved on to the colony of Galka .
