Andreas Reiter was born on 23 December 1736 in Gersfeld, then part of the Herrschaft Gersfeld of the Reichsrittern von Ebersberg. He was the son of Johann Michael Reiter from Hildburghausen and Katharina Weibrecht from Gersfeld. Andreas was a journeyman dyer. Andreas and his wife, Anna Maria Reinick, arrived in Frank on 1 September 1767.
Katharina Wiebrecht was the daughter of Johann Adam Wiebrecht and Barbara Fischer. The Fischer line in Gersfeld has been traced back to Lukas Fischer (born 25 November 1622) and Katharina Schubert.
Anna Maria Reinick, daughter of Johannes Reinick & Margaretha Guttmann, was born in Gersfeld on 23 November 1739.
