Anton Jäger, son of Johann Konrad Jäger & Anna Katharina Dönges, was born 9 July 1717 and baptized 11 July 1717 in the Evangelical Church in Spachbrücken, southeast of Darmstadt. He married Eva Margaretha Landzettel, daughter of Ludwig Landzettel, on 15 January 1743 in Spachbrücken. Eva Margaretha had been born on 21 October 1717 in nearby Habitzheim. They had two daughters: (1) Elisabetha Barbara, born in 1747; and (2) Eva Margaretha, born in 1751.
Anton Jäger, his wife and daughters, and their maid Anna Katharina Landzettel immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein), departing from Altona, Duchy of Holstein, on 3 July 1762. They arrived in the city of Flensburg, Duchy of Schleswig on 9 June 1762.
They are recorded in Denmark until 3 May 1765, when they immigrated to Russia. Anton Jäger's family settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm , and are recorded there on the 1775 census in Household No. 43.
Anton, his second wife, and son Johann Georg Ludwig are recorded on the 1798 Grimm Census in Household No. Gm071. There are other Jäger families in Grimm in 1798, but a relationship to Anton and his family has not been determined.
