Abel Hoffmann was born 31 May and baptized 2 June 1746 in Zell. His parents were Johannes Hoffmann, a smith, and his wife Anna.
Abel Hoffmann, Lutheran, a smith from Darmstadt, arrived in Russia as a single man on 19 July 1766 on the ship Fortitudo, along with a number of other families who settled in Müller.
Abel and his wife Elisabeth are reported on the Müller 1767 Census (First Settlers List) in Household #13.
