The lists of the recruiter Johann Facius report that Phillip Faust, age 20, came from Wolferborn. The Wolferborn parish records report that Johann Philips Faust was baptized on 24 Jan 1746, the son of Johannes Faust and Anna Elisabeth. He arrived in Russia as a single man on 8 Aug 1766. By the time of his arrival in Kutter, he is married and his household includes his wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law (Kutter First Settlers List #29).
