Stenzel, Johannes

The Rev. Johannes Stenzel, son of Jakob Stenzel & Katharina Stroh, was born 25 June 1877 in Frank. He spent his early childhood there before moving to Wiesenmüller to live with an uncle. He studied at the seminary in Dorpat from 1897-1901. He was ordained 16 March 1903 in the Lutheran Church in Saratov. He served in Hoffental from 1903-1905; in Krasnoyar from 1905-1914; and in Orenburg from 1914-1921. He left Russia in 1921 where he assisted in Frankfurt am Oder with the Volga German refugees fleeing the famine in Russia. Pastor Stenzel died 30 December 1946 in Berlin, Germany.
